NEWS 08-09-2019. NEWS FOR 9-SEPT (MONDAY) 1. Communication with lander Vikram of Chandrayaan 2 was lost in the last minute. Normal performance was observed up to 2.1 km. Apparently, Chandrayan 2 could not land on the moon and therefore it has not completed its entire goals. But, the mission is considered a great success as the Orbiter will continue to be there for approx 7 yrs and will continue to send necessary data and images. 2. The Supreme Court has rejected P Chidambaram's anticipatory bail plea and sent him to Tihar jail till September 19, 2019 in relation with INX Media corruption case. 3. The PM, at the 5th Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia, announced that India would be giving 1 billion dollar worth 'Line of Credit' for the development of the Far East of Russia. This is the first time that India would be giving line of credit to an area of another country. 4. The joint military exercise between India and USA, Yudh Abhyas 2019, began on September 5, 2019, at the Joint Base Lewis Macard near Washington. This exercise will last till 18 Sep’19.5. 8 Apache AH-64E combat helicopters have been inducted into the Indian Air Force at the Pathankot A F station on 3rd Sept, 2019.
