The Unnao rape case has been moved to the Delhi high court and the victim has been compensated with a sum of Rs. 25 Lakhs. In the Unnao rape case a teenager was allegedly raped by BJP MLA, Kuldeep Singh Sengar. He is also charged with the murder of her two aunts and the victim’s attempted murder. The MLA is now in jail. 3. According to Economic survey 9.5crore toilets have been made and the centre has declared that India will be ODF by 2nd October. 4. Article 370 and 35A, under which Kashmir was given a special status, have been abrogated with the accent of the President. Kashmir is now a UT with a legislature and Ladakh is another UT without any legislation. 5. Sushma Swaraj, former external affairs minister passed away after suffering from a heart attack on 7th August. 6. Saudi Arabia has allowed their females to travel without male guardians. Recently they had permitted their women to drive. 7. UAPA (Unlawful Authorities Prevention Act) has been passed. Under the present act, any individual can be declared a terrorist.
