NEWS 07-07-2019. NEWS FOR 8-JUL (MONDAY) 1. Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the Jammu & Kashmir reservation bill in Parliament & has also proposed to extend the President's rule in the state by six months. The Amendment proposes that people who live along the LOC & LAC should be included in the 3% reservation. Over 3.5 lakh people will get benefit from it. 2. The wreckage of the missing AN-32, a transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force, was spotted in Arunachal Pradesh, eight days after it went missing on June 3. The wreckage was spotted 16 km North of Lipo, North East of Tato at an approximate elevation of 12000 ft by IAF Mi-17 Helicopter. There were no survivors. 3. Om Birla has become the 17th Lok Sabha speaker and has succeeded Sumitra Mahajan. Om Birla is a two time MP from Rajasthan. 4. Chandrayaan-2 will be launched on July 15, 2019 confirmed ISRO Chairman K Sivan. Chandrayaan-2 will comprise three modules, an orbiter, a lander named Vikram and a rover named Pragyan. The orbiter will have eight payloads, while the Lander and the Rover will have three and two respectively. Chandrayaan-2 is expected to land near the South Polar Region which is not visible to the eye. 5. India test fired Brahmos supersonic cruise missile from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Odisha. It can be fired from land, sea and air. The missile has a strike range of around 290 km. 6. 12th edition of 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup kick started from 30th May and the tournament will commence on 14th July.
