FCI, has sold 18.05 lakh metric tonnes wheat in open market after Govt decided to augment wheat supply in the market for cooling down sharply rising prices of wheat and wheat flour. 2. PM Modi chaired the meeting of the 41st edition of PRAGATI. PRAGATI is the ICT-based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, involving Centre and State governments. 3. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, recently laid the foundation stone for the world's largest and unique Divyang Park. 4. Godrej Aerospace has bagged the order to manufacture eight modules of the DRDO's turbojet engine. *INTERNATIONAL NEWS* 1. India and US are looking to explore cooperation in the civil nuclear energy sector after failing to move forward since inking an agreement over 14 years ago. 2. Indian-American Ajay Banga has been nominated by US to become CEO of the World Bank. 3. The govt of Bangladesh has signed an agreement with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to increase the use of solar energy in the country. *DEFENSE NEWS* 1. Indian Army has raised the first ever Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) Regiment. Medium Range Surface to Air Missiles, also known as 'Abhra' is an air defence system developed by the DRDO & the Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI). The state-of-the-art missile system is capable of hitting multiple targets at a range of 70km. 2. DRDO will equip Astra air-to-air missile system on Indian Air Force's Sukhoi Su-30MKIS, Light Combat Aircraft TEJAS MK-1A and MiG-29 UPG. Astra is a beyond visual range (BVR) air-to-air missile system which has been indigenously designed and developed to take down enemy aircraft and drones. 3.
