NEWS 01-01-2023. News For 2nd-Jan (Monday) DEFENCE NEWS 1.The Indian Navy (IN) took delivery of the INS Vagir. This is the fifth out of 6 submarine under Project-75. 2. The Indian Navy launched 'Arnala', the first of the eight indigenously-built anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft at the shipbuilding facility of L&T in Chennai. 3.India and Japan will organise their maiden bilateral air combat exercise, Veer Guardian 2023 from January 16 to 26 in Japan. NATIONAL NEWS 1.The central govt has signed a peace agreement with a Manipur insurgent group Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF). The agreement provides rehabilitation and resettlement of the armed cadres, while the insurgents will "join the democratic process". 2.
