1. Gen Asim Munir has taken over as the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan. He has served as the Director General of Military Intelligence and ISI also.
2. India has taken over the Presidency of G-20 from December 1, 2022. This is an opportunity for India to take to international stage topics like Invest in India, Terror funding, China's economic influence on neighbours and to cushion the effect of global recession on economy.
3. Sher Bahadur Deuba has taken over ad the PM of Nepal. This is the second election after 2015, when Nepal has accepted democracy.
4. India rose two spots to rank 8th out of 63 countries in the Climate Change Performance Index 2023 (CCPI).
5. The United Nations, Turkey and Ukraine have agreed to implement a Black Sea grain deal despite Russia's withdrawal from the pact. This initiative was set up to reintroduce vital food and fertilizer exports from Ukraine to the rest of the world.
*Defence News*
1 . Skyroot Aerospace on 20th Nov launched India's first privately made rocket, Vikram-S on a suborbital flight.
2. Y 12705, the 2nd ship of Project 15B stealth guided missile destroyers, was delivered to the Indian Navy. The ship is 163 metres long and 17 metres wide. It displaces 7400 tons & has a maximum speed of 30 knots.
3. The 18th edition of Indo - US joint training exercise “YUDH ABHYAS 22” was conducted in Uttarakhand on Nov 22.
4. HAL has awarded contract for Design & Indigenous Development of Night Vision Goggles for HAL to an Indian coy.
5. Indian Army has released RFP for the Procurement of 100 logistic drones, under emergency procurement, through fast track procedure, under Buy Indian Category.
6. Indian Air Force & French Air and Space Force (FASF) participated in a bilateral exercise 'Garuda' from 26 Oct to 12 Nov 2022 at Air Force Station Jodhpur. Su-30MKI, Rafale, LCA Tejas, Jaguar, LCH & Mi-17 Helicopters are participating from IAF side.
7. The recent incidents of drone surveillance from Pakistan have prompted the Indian Army to install two systems including quadcopter jammers (called Aqua Jammers) and multi-shot guns on the Line of Control (LoC). The two systems have been deployed around 400 metres behind the LoC. The aqua jammer can detect drone signal up to a range of 5km.
8. C-295 transport aircraft for the IAF is to be manufactured by Tata-Airbus at Vadodara in Gujarat. Apart from making 40 aircraft, this facility at Vadodara in Gujarat would be manufacturing additional aircraft for Air Force requirements and exports.
9. UAE-based small arms manufacturer has signed a partnership agreement with India’s leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company, ICOMM to locally manufacture small arms for Indian defense forces as well as the exports market.

1. Centre has allowed International Trade Settlements in Indian Rupees for Export Promotion Schemes.
2. FDI inflows of USD 45.15 billion in 2014-2015, have risen steadily. The highest ever inflow was in 2021-22, which was USD 83.6 billion.

1. 22nd edition of Fifa Men's world cup commenced in Qatar from 20th November 2022. Cristiano Ronaldo became the 1st player in history to score in 5 football world cups.
2.India's Shiva Narwal won gold in Men's 10-meter air pistol event at Asian Airgun Championship.
3. India is going to host the women's World Boxing Championship next year, for the 3rd time. The 2006 and 2018 editions were conducted in New Delhi.
4. Virat Kohli became the first Crickerer to score 4000 runs in T20.
5. England defeated Pakistan by 5 wkts to win the T20i 2022 world cup.

1. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on 26 January 2023. It is of significance as Egypt has shown interest in purchasing LCA Tejas from India.
2. Cochin Shipyard signed an MoU with the Inland Waterways Authority of India to build the country's first hydrogen fuel cell catamaran vessel for Varanasi.
3. Dr Justice D.Y. Chandrachud was sworn in as the 50th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
