It is an attempt to internationalise the rupee exchange settlements. This will help in countering China's dominance and aslo break clutches of dollar in international trade. 2. India is set to build 1700km road along Yangtze river eyeing China's encroachment (CABBAGE STRATEGY) in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. This is crucial as it will aid faster movement of defence troops and also in developing the region. 3. Three more Indian Sites are added to UNESCO Tentative World Heritage Sites. Those are Vadangar Gujrat, Sun temple at Modhera Gujrat, Rock cut relief at Unnakoti. This will boost the Tourism industry of India which is a great contributer to $5 trillion economy goal. *Defence News* 4. Exercise Surya Kiran was conducted Between India and Nepal. It is the 16th edition of the joint training exercise between the neighbours. 5. Guided Missile destroyer INS Murmagao got commissioned in Indian Navy on 18th December. Indigenously built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, this is a Vishakapatnam class destroyer, equipped with state-of-the-art weapons, sensors, modern surveillance radars, STA and STS missiles. 6. Fifth Scorpene class submarine Vagir under project-75 was delivered to Indian Navy by France. These submarines are equipped with wide range of naval combat capabilities. Total of 6 scorpene class subamrines are to be made under this project of which 5 are delivered to the Indian Navy till now. *International News* 7.
