1. Former PM of Japan Shinzo Abe, was assassinated on 8th of Jul, during an election rally, in the city of Nara, two days prior to national election. India declared one day of National mourning.

2. Indian under-20 women's wrestling team clinched medals in all weight categories in the 2022 under-20 (junior) Asian Wrestling Championship being held at Manama, Bahrain & ended the tournament as runners up. India captured 3 golds, 4 silvers & 3 bronze medals at the event.

3. Malaysia has reportedly identified the Indian-manufactured Tejas light combat aircraft to replace its current fleet of MiG-29 fighter jets and is believed to be in advanced negotiations to firm up its procurement.

4. Of the top ten economies powered by solar power, 5 are from Asia. This is a major breakthrough given that a decade ago, only two Asian countries were on the list. India has increased its share from 0.01% to over 4% in last 10 years.

5. India & Iran are set to activate a new shorter route to Russia called the Int’l North-South Transportation Corridor. INSTC connects Mumbai, Bandar Abbas, Baku, Bandar Anzali, Astrakhan, Moscow and this route is safe from sanctions against Russia & Iran.

6. *India-Australia Critical Minerals Investment Partnership* has been signed, according to which both the countries will explore investment opportunities in cobalt and lithium mineral assets.

7. China has backed Pakistan in opposing G20 Kashmir meetings. Those statements came as China hailed the completion of its first major hydropower project under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on the Jhelum river on the border of Punjab and the western part of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

8. Iran has escalated uranium enrichment with adaptable machines at Fordow, IAEA(International Atomic Energy Agency) reports.

9. The World Bank Board of Executive Directors approved two complementary loans of USD 500 million each, for supporting and enhancing India’s health sector. Key Facts - The financing of USD 1 billion by World Bank will support the “Pradhan Mantri-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM)” scheme of India. This scheme was launched in October 202.

10. India & Armenia have signed an MoU on High Impact Community Development Projects in Armenia with financial & technical assistance from India.
