The historic Goods and Services tax (GST) Bill, which was passed by the Rajya Sabha last week, is scheduled to be taken up and ratified today (8^th August 2016) at the Lok Sabha. Six official amendments, including the scrapping of a 1 per cent additional tax was approved by the Rajya Sabha in majority which needs to be ratified by the Lok Sabha after which 50% of the states need to sanction the same.
