NEWS 03-04-2022. NEWS FOR 5th-APR (TUESDAY) 1. India will be importing 100 tonnes of natural uranium and 133 units of fuel assemblies in the next fiscal year. Indian govt has entered into an agreement with Russian for supply of fuel for Russian reactors. India also entered into a uranium Purchase Agreement with Canada, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan. 2. DRDO along with HAL have commenced integration activities of the Naval Anti-Ship Missile Short Range (NASM-SR) missiles. NASM-SR is a 380 kg Air launched Naval Anti-Ship Missile that has an IIR seeker & has a 100kg warhead that can be launched from Naval Helicopters to neutralize small to a medium class of ships & patrol boats. 3. India and Nepal have discussed the *Kalapani border dispute*, on the recent 3 day visit of Nepalese PM Sher Bahadur Deuba. The visit of the Nepalese leader is the first since the Kalapani boundary issue that erupted in Nov 2019. 4. 2 indigenously developed, *'Dhruv'* Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) MKIII were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard. 5. HAL has recorded the highest ever revenue of over Rs 24000 crore in 2021-22, registering a 6% growth over the previous Yr. 6. The UPI transactions have crossed the $1 Trillion mark in FY21-22, showing major boost towards Digital India. 7. DRDO has carried out 2 successful tests of the Army's version of the *medium-range surface-to-air missile* (MRSAM), developed jointly with Israel, in Mar 2022. 8. *Cabinet Committee on Security* (CCS) has approved the purchase of 15 indigenously developed *Light Combat Helicopters* (LCH) from HAL, at a cost of Rs 3,887 Cr. IAF will get 10 & the Army will get 5 helicopters each. 9. A consignment of 40,000 metric tonnes of diesel from India reached Sri Lanka on 2nd Apr, the fourth such assistance from New Delhi, to the island nation, which is facing an unprecedented economic and energy crisis. 10. India has replaced China, in developing *3 Sri Lankan wind farms*, on islands between India & SL. 11. TATA has started deliveries of *WhAP- Wheeled Armoured Amphibious Platform*, 8 x 8 Armored vehicles to the CRPF, Jointly developed by TATA & DRDO. 12. India & Russia will soon carry out their financial trnsactions in *rupee-ruble*, by-passing the usage of US dollar. 13.
