_Two more regiments of the short-range supersonic cruise missile, Brahmos, will be inducted into Army by mid april 2016.

_Also Defence Minister, Manohar Parikarr sanctioned the 3, 53,765 new bullet-proof vests required for the 1.18 million strong Army. As of now_ 50,000 such vests will be bought on "emergency" procurement contract worth Rs 140 crores. The jackets will be delivered in August & thereafter the remaining would be delivered by January 2017.

View: _The DRDO has come up with this bullet-proof jacket, as per the newer technical specifications, using different "state-of-the-art ballistic materials", thereby keeping the Indian Armed Forces at par with its counterparts.
