Indian Army for the first time in its history is hosting one of the largest multi- national military exercise, with 18 ASEAN countries known as Field Training Exercise (FTX 2016) from 02-08 March 2016, at Pune. The Indian contingent of 40 soldiers was represented by Lt Col Sophia Qureshi from the Corps of Signals, who is the first woman officer to lead an Indian Army training contingent. The theme of the exercise was based on “humanitarian mine action” & “peacekeeping operations”.
