US has finalised a proposal to sell M777 ultra light howitzers to India. The light artillery gun deal worth over $700 million is a part of Make in India scheme. The ‘Letter of Acceptance’ is soon to be signed between US & India. A part of this contract is being handled by the Indian company Mahindra’s.

View: India is building deeper ties with the U.S in strengthening the defence forces. The Make in India scheme is proceeding towards providing employment to a large no. of people thereby eliminating unemployment, as also increasing self dependency.
