Japan’s ShinMaywa Industries, manufacturer of US-2
aircraft, have inked a deal
with India to produce 6 such aircrafts
for the Indian Navy. These aircrafts will
be used to monitor India’s vast coastline
& islands as also will be used in
disaster management. The plant will be
set up in India to cater to the
international demands.

If the deal
goes through, it would be the first major export of Japanese
defence item. This deal will also improve
the foreign ties between both the
nations.
