17 Corps, India’s 4^th strike corps is being raised, consisting of 2 infantry divisions, 2 independent infantry brigades & 2 independent armoured brigades, along with its supporting elements. It is currently headquartered at Ranchi, Jharkhand.

This corps is being raised to provide security for the 3500 km China border from Arunachal Pradesh to Ladakh.
