NEWS 26-01-2020. NEWS FOR 27-JAN (MONDAY) 1. India successfully test-fired K-4 nuclear capable submarine launched ballistic missile off the coast of Visakhapatnam. The missile, developed by the DRDO, has a range of 3,500 km and it will be able to cover almost entire Pakistan and several areas of China. (Defence) 2. India chased down 204 to beat New Zealand by 6 wickets in the 1st T20I. The 2nd T20 will also be played at Eden Park in Auckland on 26th Jan. (Sports) 3. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro arrived in New Delhi on a 4 day visit to India. He was the chief guest for 71st Republic Day Parade on 26th Jan 2020. (National) 4. NITI Aayog announced that it will launch National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP). The Platform aims to democratize access of govt data. The Economic Intelligence Unit released Democracy Index for the year 2019. The index was topped by Norway, followed by Iceland and Sweden at second and third positions respectively. India was pushed to 51st rank, slipping 10 positions as compared to its previous ranking.
