NEWS 15-01-2020. NEWS FOR 17-JAN (FRIDAY) 1. The Govt of India has released its National Draft Policy on rare diseases. The policy has proposed one-time fund of Rs 15 lakhs to treat rare diseases under Ayushman Bharat. 2. The Govt of India will acquire 200 aircrafts for its AF. Of these 200 aircrafts, 83 fighter jets are LCA Tejas Mark 1A which will be procured from HAL. The rest will be procured based on Request for Proposals. 3. The Naval version of LCA Tejas successfully landed on INS Vikramaditya. With this achievement, the LCA becomes the first indigenous aircraft to make an arrested landing on a naval ship. 4. India is going to erect non-cut steel fence on the borders of Pakistan and Bangladesh. The plan is being executed to replace the 30 yrs old and brittle wire, which can be cut by simple wire cutters. 5. The Statue of Unity which was inaugurated by PM Modi in October 2018 has been included in 8 wonders of SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization). 6. The Ministry of Defense has announced new fuel up gradation for Indian Navy with revised technical specifications. The High Flash High Speed Diesel (HFHSD) was launched with an aim to reduce carbon footprint. 7. Australia beat India in 1st ODI which was held in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Australian opener Aaron Finch and David Warner both scored centuries and won the match by 10 wickets. This was the first time when Australia beat India by 10 wickets in ODI. < < Back
