NEWS FOR 26-OCT (FRIDAY)
1. The first India-US Tri-Services exercise will take place in 2019 in India. Talks are on to include the participation of special forces.

2. India was elected to the United Nations' Human Rights Council', the main body of UN charged with promoting and monitoring human rights for a period of three years beginning on 1-Jan'19. 

3.The World Economic Forum (WEF) has announced that it's fourth Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution will be setup in Maharashtra. India. The other three are in San Francisco (US), Tokyo (Japan) and Beijing (China). The centre will facilitate to bring together government and business leaders to pilot emerging technology policies.

4. China has agreed to sell 48 high-end armed drones to Pakistan, which is a high-end reconnaissance, strike and multi-role endurance unmanned aerial system and is roughly equivalent to the American Reaper drone.

5. The 3rd edition of Japan-India Maritime Exercise (JIMEX) was conducted from the 7th to 15th of October at Visakhapatnam. It was aimed to enhance better cooperation between the two navies.

6. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Russia have agreed to work together for India's first manned space mission Gaganyaan. 

7. India and Russia have concluded the contract for five S-400 'Triumf' missile systems, after the annual summit between PM Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The US$5.43 billion S-400 system uses four different missiles along with a multilayered radar tracking system which will provide India with 600kms radar coverage and the option of shooting down a hostile aircraft or missile 400kms to 40kms outside its territory.
