Ahead of the visit of US
Defence Secretary to India in the 3rd week of May’ 2015, South block
has cleared a proposal for the joint manufacture of lightweight, protective
clothing for Indian Soldier’s. These clothing’s will be chemical &
biological warfare resistant. An initial amount of Rs. 300 crore has been earmarked
for this project which will grow later.
It will be designed to
operate in all climates & would also reduce thermal signature of troops.
