International News

1.    
India and Afghanistan exchanged a memorandum of understanding on 28th September, which will see Afghan police forces being trained in India.

2.    
Tech Giant Google’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) based digital payment service Tez (meaning fast in Hindi) was launched by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi. With this, Google become latest international giant to enter into India’s fast growing digital payment ecosystem.


3.    
ISRO’s globally acclaimed Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) also known as Mangalyaan completed three years in Martian orbit. It has outlived its original lifespan and is still in good health and continues to work as expected. The spacecraft has five instruments mounted on it for collecting scientific data of Mars morphology, atmospheric processes, surface temperature, surface geology and atmospheric escape process.


4.    
US President D. Trump has announced travel bans on North Korea, Venezuela and Chad along with other Muslim majority nations including Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen on which ban was declared earlier.
  
5.     India announced collaboration with Russia to build a Nuclear Plant in Bangladesh, near Dhaka which will be Bangladesh’s first Atomic Energy Project. The Nuclear Plant will have two units each with a capacity of 1200MW.  

National News


1.    
India is going to conduct the first BIMSTEC Disaster Management Exercise from 10th oct to 13th oct 2017.
Objective a. Testing the region’s preparedness for immediate deployment of regional resources in case of Disaster. b. Strengthen the effective utilization of search and rescue team for emergency response and management of mass casualties .  

2.    
Union cabinet has approved scheme for modernisation of police forces for years 2017-2020. Rs 100 crore has been earmarked for police. A budget of Rs10132 crore has been year marked for internal security related expenditure in J&k And North Eastern States. Provisions will be made for modern weapons, women securities, up gradation of police wireless.


Defence News


1.    
INS Tarasa (T94), was commissioned into Indian Navy at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. It is an improved variant of Car Nicobar-class high-speed offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) built indigenously by Kolkata (West Bengal) based Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE), for the Indian Navy. The ship will also have the latest communication equipment and radars to enable effective surveillance.


 Sports news

1.    
5 time worlds champion and Olympic bronze medallist M.C Marry Kom became the first Indian to be picked as representative of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) for the International Olympic committees Athletes forum.


2.    
 India lost the 4th ODI against Australia by 21 runs in a fairly decent chase of 334 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on 28th sept. David Warner was declared as the Man of the Match.
