*NATIONAL*

1.Telangana has unveiled India's tallest statue of Ambedkar, a 125-ft tall, bronze statue in Hyderabad.
2.Nandini Gupta (19) of Rajasthan has been crowned the 59th beauty pageant, Femina Miss India World 2023.
3. India's retail inflation fell to a 15-month low of 5.66% in March as compared to 6.44% in February.
4. Kolkata Metro became India’s first metro train to run under river.
5. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in association with the DRDO and IAF have successfully demonstrated a precise landing experiment for a Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing Mission (RLV LEX) test.
6. The govt has announced a plan to add 250 GW of renewable energy capacity in the next five years to achieve its target of 500 GW of clean energy by 2030.

*INTERNATIONAL*

1.Amit Kshatriya, an Indian-American engineer with expertise in software and robotics, has been appointed as the inaugural head of NASA‘s newly-established Moon to Mars Programme.
2. On 4th April 2023, Finland deposited its instrument of accession to the North Atlantic Treaty with the United States at NATO Headquarters in Brussels and became the 31st member of the alliance.
3. France has invited PM Narendra Modi to visit Paris as a guest at the annual Bastille Day parade, which will be held in July '23.
4. India has been elected to the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) for a four-year term beginning on 1Jan '24.
5. India and Nepal will set up the first integrated check post (ICP) along the border near Jaigaon and Phuntsholi.
6.Indian govt has signed a MoU with the World Food Programme (WFP) for sending 10,000 metric tonnes of wheat to the people of Afghanistan.
7. New York Senate has appointed Rowan Wilson as state's first Black chief judge.

*SPORTS*

1.Indian Swimmer, Vedaant Madhavan has claimed 5 gold medals for India at the Malaysian Invitational age group Championships 2023 held in Kuala Lumpur.
2.Indian badminton player, Priyanshu Rajawat (21) has clinched the men's singles title of the Orleans Masters Super 300 tournament.
3. Gregoria Mariska from Indonesia has clinched her Women's 2023 Spain Masters title after defeating PV sindhu in finals, held in Madrid, Spain.
4. India emerged as the winners in both men’s and women’s categories at the 4th Asian Kho Kho Championships held in Tamulpur,Assam. 5. New Zealand’s Kim Cotton became first female umpire to officiate men’s T20I match.

*DEFENCE*

1. Nepal and India are preparing to sign an agreement to allow cross-border digital payments through e-wallets.
2.Indian Air Force contingent participated in the multinational international Exercise Orion, organized in France from 17 April to 5 May 2023.
3. 5 women officers have been inducted in the Regiment of Artillery, for the first time.
4. The Andaman & Nicobar command India's sole tri-services unit, held a collaborative military drill named Exercise 'KAVACH'.
