The Indian Navy launched *'Arnala'*, the first of the eight indigenously-built anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft at the shipbuilding facility of L&T in Chennai. 3.India and Japan have concluded their maiden bilateral air combat exercise, *Veer Guardian* 2023 from January 16 to 26 in Japan. IAF first female fighter pilot Sqn Ldr Avani Chaturvedi, alongwith 4 SU-30, 2 C-17 Globemaster & 1 IL-78 aircrafts participated in it. 4. Manufacture of over six lakh AK-203 Kalashnikov rifles at the Korwa Ordnance factory in Amethi district of UP has kicked off. NATIONAL NEWS 1. IIT Kanpur has developed an Artificial Heart to Deal with Acute Cardiac Problems. 2. GOI announced a new *'Aarogya Maitri'* project under which India will provide essential medical supplies to any developing country affected by natural disaster or humanitarian crisis and proposed to set up a *'centre of excellence'* to facilitate development solutions to those countries. 3.
