1. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has achieved 95 per cent self reliance in the supply of spare parts for the maintenance of its critical assets and has thus saved Rs 600 crore in the past five years by using indigenous items.
2. The soon-to-be-built Pune-Bengaluru greenfield corridor will reduce the distance between these two cities by 95 km and reduce the travel time by around four to five hours, apart from saving a lot of fuel.
3. India is planning to manufacture 4.2 Lac indigenously made carbine for the Army, Navy and Air - force. The allocation of funds for the project is going to be over Rs. 5,000 crores.
4. Tata group’s arm for aerospace and defence, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), on 24th-Jul transported an indigenously developed Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle (QRFV) to the Indian Army. The vehicle will enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Army in future conflicts and war-like situations.
5. Opening the account for India at CWG 2022, Mirabai Chanu, on the second day, bagged the first gold by lifting a total 201Kg in the women's 49Kg weightlifting event.
6. Navies of India and the U.K. participated in a two day bilateral Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the Bay of Bengal. The Indian Navy was represented by INS Satpura, Ranvir, Jyoti, Kavaratti, Kulish, and a submarine.
