NEWS FOR 25th-OCT (MONDAY)
1. India on 21st Oct reached the milestone of 100 crore vaccines administered in the country, the second after China to do so. India reached the landmark in 278 days, having begun the vaccination drive on 16th of Jan.  

2. India has been re-elected to United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for sixth term on October 14, 2021 with overwhelming majority. It will be effective from January 2022 to December 2024. India has received 184 votes out of 193 votes cast in the election.
 

3. India handed over a 34.9 km long cross-border rail link to Nepal, connecting Jayanagar in Bihar to Kurtha in Nepal.
 

4. The first meeting of the foreign ministers of India, Israel, the US and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held on 19th October. They decided to establish an international forum for economic cooperation and discussed joint infrastructure projects in transportation and technology.
The meeting, is described in some quarters as a “new Quad”  

5. Strengthening its fire power and combat capability, India has deployed upgraded L70 anti-aircraft guns, M-777 howitzers and Bofors artillery guns, along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang sector.  

6. China has recently signed an MOU with Bhutan to resolve the longstanding territorial dispute between the two countries. The agreement is titled as the ‘Three step road map’, for expediting the Bhutan-China Boundary Negotiations.
 

7. Rolls Royce has shown interest to partner the Indian Navy for development of electric warships for its 'Fleet of the future'.
