SOME IMPORTANT NEWS OF LAST FEW DAYS.
1. Indian Navy and Japanese Navy have conducted a Naval Exercise PASSEX for tactical and communications training, towards the Malacca Strait in the Indian Ocean Region. The excercise consisted of four warships viz. Rajput-class destroyer INS (Indian Naval Ship) Rana and Kora-class missile corvette INS Kulish of Indian Navy and JS Kashima (TV 3508) and JS Shimayuki (TV 3513) of JMSDF’s training squadron. 

2. The year 2020 is set to have its third Lunar Eclipse in a very short period of time. Known commonly as Troika, the phenomenon occurs very rarely in quick succession, and hence the upcoming lunar eclipse on July 5.

3. Lt. Col. Bharat Pannu, a serving Indian Army Officer created history on 28th June 2020 by successfully securing a podium place at the first edition of the Virtual Race Across America (VRAAM) 2020 and became the first Indian ever to win a podium place at an international ultracycling race.

4. On 29th June 2020, Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Steel & Petroleum and Natural Gas virtually inaugurated Asia’s first Continuous Galvanized Rebar Production Facility near Gobindgarh,

5. On 30 June, The Government of India declared the entire Nagaland as a “disturbed area” for another six months from 30 June, 2020 to 31, December, 2020 by exercising the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958.

6. On 30 June, India became a founding member of the United Nation(UN)’s ‘Alliance for Poverty eradication’. It aims to focus on efforts to boost the global economy and eradicate poverty after COVID 19 pandemic.

7. Fitch Slashes India’s Growth Forecast For FY22 to 8%; Projects Contraction at 5% For FY21.

8. The gross GST revenue collected in June 2020 is 90,917 crore rupees of which CGST is 18,980 crore, SGST is 23,970 crore and IGST is 40,302 crore rupees.

9. Government of India has banned 59 Chinese mobile apps to protect sovereignty and integrity of India.

10. China to join UN Arms Trade Treaty that is designed to control the flow of weapons into conflict zones.
