India’s first Nuclear armed submarine INS Arihant is ready for full fledged operations, having passed several deep sea diving drills & will be formally inducted soon. Indian Navy is also building INS Varsha, a new strategic naval base on the Eastern coast where the nuclear weapons will be based. They are also working on a new class of nuke submarines which Navy’s Submarine Design Bureau hopes to induct in the next 5 years.
