In a recent study, a team of astrophysicists have detected gravitational waves, which is in line with Einstein’s theory of relativity. These waves are ripples in space & time, which are produced when Black Holes collide & stars explode. This observation was made by using an observatory known as Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO).

View:  By studying them, scientists hope to gain valuable insight into the universe, because these waves, experience no barriers, unlike electromagnetic waves & hence would have an impact which needs to be studied.
