Larsen and Toubro is set to get a major share in a Rs.5000 crore contract with Russian shipbuilder Zvezdochka to upgrade and refit Russian origin Kilo Class submarines.This programm will increase the life of the submarine.L & T is now expected to upgrade at least three submarines in India.This replaces the Russian –Pipavav earlier partenerships on the same subject.

View- The extensive refit will not only extend the life of the boats but will also upgrade their combat potential.Also this will enhance the expertise in India to undertake such projects.
