Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha on the eve of the 83rd Indian Airforce Day has announced that IAF will soon induct women into its fighter stream.
Views:
· At present IAF has approximately 1500 women in the forces, out of which 108 are women pilots in the helicopter & transport branch. This step will boost women empowerment in the defence forces which was once considered to be a men’s arena.
· This would also boost the morale of the women officers awaiting permanent commission in the Army.
